This is Carnival

Out here on the savannah grass,
Steel drums, music trucks and brass.
Atmosphere nice, sun pelting hot.
Girls in costumes shaking their butts.
In the streets you see colorful costumes galore,
With every woman’s bumper ready to be explored.
Costumes, purple, red, green, yellow are a plenty.
Skins glistening from SPF40
Masqueraders being asked to get in their section,
DJs and truck crew giving out the instructions.
Faces full of glee and joy so hearty,
Everyone here spent their money and came to party.
For two days in the year it’s a memorium,
When you look at the shear pandemonium.
Bacchanal for every creed, color and age,
All just to cross the judgement stage.
A release of stress created from a colonial history,
Brave individuals celebrating the world’s greatest party.
Whether you’re alone, with famalay, or friends,
An event that you miss and wait to return when it ends
